Antigen Rapid Test
The Beright Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kit for self testing has met the requirements by the MOH and is a kit to have at home for everyone during this Covid-19 pandemic. It is registered with the Medical Device Authority(MDA) of Malaysia and is extremely easy to use. We recommend regular testing for all high risk groups, including front line workers, elderly above 60 and family members of anyone who regularly steps out of the house for groceries.

What is Covid-19 Saliva Self Test Kits?
The COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test (Oral Fluid) is a qualitative membrane-based immunoassay for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 Antigens in human oral fluid specimen.
Who should use the Self Test kits?
Anyone who is well, or suspects that he may have been exposed to someone displaying symptoms of Covid-19, can use the self test kits to screen himself. Anyone who are regularly working out or exposed to the public either through work or public transportation can perform regular self tests to keep a peace of mind.
The test is a screening test and is not meant for diagnosis. Always seek advice from a healthcare provider no matter what the results are.
What does the test results mean?
The test results are read at 15 minutes and no longer than 20 minutes.
If you see two red lines by C and T regions, you have been tested positive for Covid-19. The lines can be distinct or faint.
RT-PCR test is still required for a confirmation of a Covid-19 case. You are advised to seek medical attention immediately even though you might have no symptoms
If you see one red line by C, and no line by T, it is a negative result.
You probably do not have Covid-19. If you suspect you have been exposed to the virus, we advise you to continue monitoring for symptoms
There is a chance for a false-negative result. If you develop symptoms later on, you are advised to do a RT-PCR test as confirmation
If you do not see any lines, or one line by T, it is an invalid result. There is an error in the test.
You will need to do another test with a new test kit.

When is the best or right time to do the test?
During this pandemic, there is no right time to use the test as you generally do not know when you are exposed to the Covid-19 virus.
You can test when:
you have been in a high-risk area,
if you have developed symptoms such as cough, flu, fever, difficulty breathing, tastelessness, and any symptoms pertaining to the Covid-19 virus,
if you travel to work in public transportation
if you have been to crowded areas
What do I do if I spit too much saliva? Is the test still accurate?
No worries, it will not affect the accuracy of the test. Do not spit lesser than the required amount.
How should I manage the used test kits?
Discard all items into a ziplock plastic bag before disposing it.
Can this be used by children?
Yes, it can be used by children and adult of all ages.
Should i rinse my mouth with water/mouthwash or brush my teeth before the test?
Keep at least 30 minutes after brushing the teeth or usage of oral care products before performing the test.
How should I store the kits?
The kit needs to be stored in a dry place between 20°C to 30°C. High heat will affect the accuracy of the test. If this happens, please purchase a new kit. Do not keep it in the refrigerator as well.
Could other throat infection give me a positive result?
No, a throat infection that is not due to Covid-19 infection will not give you a positive result.
Does the test kit detect the different variants?
Yes, antigen kits detect different protein of the virus than the ones that undergo mutations. It should not affect the kit's ability to detect accurately between different variants.
